Using Advanced Technology for Clearer Medical Images

At our clinic, we have a special tool called Clarius that helps us examine your genitourinary system, which includes your urinary and reproductive organs, with great accuracy. This tool uses artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze the information it receives and produce detailed images of your body. It’s like having a smart assistant that helps us see what’s happening inside you.

Clarius consists of three devices: C3 HD3, EC7 HD3, and L15 HD3. These devices are wireless and can be easily connected to your iOS or Android smartphone or tablet. They work like portable scanners, similar to the ones we use in hospitals, but more convenient and mobile. This means we can bring the imaging technology directly to you, without the need for large, heavy equipment.

Now, let’s talk about the important things we can do with Clarius:

  1. Check for Kidney Stones: If you’ve been experiencing pain in your back or side, it’s possible that kidney stones could be the cause. With Clarius, we can take a close look at your kidneys and determine if there are any stones present. This information helps us understand the cause of your pain and plan the most appropriate treatment.

  2. Measure Bladder Volume: The bladder is an important part of your urinary system, and it’s essential to ensure it’s functioning properly. Using Clarius, we can measure the amount of urine your bladder can hold before and after you urinate. This helps us understand if there are any issues with your bladder, such as urinary retention (when your bladder doesn’t empty completely) or overactive bladder (when you have a frequent urge to urinate).

  3. Examine Reproductive Organs: For men, Clarius allows us to take a closer look at your reproductive organs, including the prostate, seminal vesicles, vas deferens, and the area around the rectum. By examining these areas, we can identify any abnormalities or signs of disease, such as an enlarged prostate or possible tumors. This information is crucial in diagnosing and planning the appropriate treatment for conditions affecting your reproductive health.

  4. Assist in Prostate Biopsy: If we find any abnormalities in your prostate or if your prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels are high, we may recommend a biopsy. A biopsy involves taking small tissue samples from the prostate gland for further analysis. With Clarius, we can guide the biopsy procedure using real-time imaging, ensuring precise and accurate sample collection. This helps us gather the necessary information to make an accurate diagnosis and develop an effective treatment plan if needed.

  5. Evaluate Scrotal Area: If you’re experiencing pain or if there are any unusual masses in your scrotum, it’s important to investigate further. Clarius enables us to visualize the scrotal contents and identify any potential issues, such as infections, cysts, or testicular masses. This allows us to determine the cause of your symptoms and recommend appropriate next steps for your care.

  6. Examine the Bladder: In certain situations, we may need to insert a catheter into your bladder for various reasons, such as draining urine or administering medications. Using Clarius, we can accurately visualize the bladder and guide the placement of the catheter. This ensures a successful and comfortable procedure, minimizing any potential complications.

  7. Assist in Pain Management: For some patients experiencing pain related to their genitourinary system, specific procedures called transrectal peri-prostatic blocks can provide effective pain relief. With Clarius, we can precisely guide the needle during these procedures, ensuring that the medication is delivered to the right location for optimal pain control.
